According to history Shri Vadnagar Teerth dates back to the ancient times. Earlier the town of Vadnagar was known by the names Anandpur or Vrudhhnagar. As per reference the town was earlier very rich and prosperous. Many old wells and forts have been found here. For the first time in 523 of Vikram Samvat Era Pavitra Agam Kalpa Sutra was read before shravakas here. King Kumarpala built a fort around Vadnagar. The idol of Lord Rishabh Dev is believed to possess miraculous powers. Devotees from far off places visit the temple to offer their prayers. It is believed that if prayed with all devotion the Lord fulfils the wishes of the pilgrims.
