Shri Jinakanchi Tirth

This tirth was built by Pallava King and it is of 7th century. Hyunsang of China wrote about this temples and some other Jain temples near by in his book. The main contributor of this temple was Pallava King Mahendra Varma. Many other Kings expanded this temple. King Kulotung Chola I gave land for this temple and temple was given the name 'Pallichandan'. This place during the reign of Pallava Kings was famous for Jain temples and many Jains lived here. Those temples which are described in Hyunsang's books are not found and this is only temple present and it is being looked after by the Ancient Architectural Department. This temples place was once meditation place of Shri Vaman Acharya. This temple is also known as Trilokyanath Temple.
