This is an ancient village, once a celebrated division as Venkundra kottam in the Chola empire; has a beautiful temple dedicated to Parswanatha; it has sanctum sanctorum, Arthamandap, Mahamandap, Munmandap, 16 pillar Utsav mandap, a 7th century CE stone image of Adhinatha is kept in a mandap; Dharmadevi stone image of 4height is present in a separate subshrine; sevaral metal images are kept in a separate shrine.
