Rock cut images of Mahaveerar, Parshavanthar and Bahubali on the brow of a small east facing cave were caused to be made by the Western Ganga King Rajamalla II during the end of 9th century. hillock as per the inscription is called Vidyadri; recently a new Mahaveerar marble statue is kept and worshipped by nearby Tamil Jains. There are two inscriptions found in this hillock. First one is seen near the relief sculptures (right side of Mahaveerar) and it was engraved in Grantha script and Sanskrit
