This tirth is belongs to the times earlier than the thirteenth century of the vikram era. The idol of this temple was reinstalled after its renovation in 1878 of the vikram era. The arrival of Kalikalasarvajna made this city holy. And other thing is this, when Acharya Shri Hiravjayji propitiated the Surimantra, the presiding deity appeared and gave him the blessing “ A great King will be awakened by you and he will prove to be of great help in spreading the Jain religion”. This King was Emperor Ashok. This tirth is very ancient.
