This is also the birth - place of Sheth Jagdu Shah who offered to pay one and a quarter crores of gold mohurs and put a holy garment on the idol in the times of King Kumarpal in the 12th century. This place is regarded as one of the group of the five sacred places of Mt. Shatrunjaya. The idol of Mahavir in this grand temple is also known as living God. Such idols are very rare. This is also the birth place and the nirvana place of Acharya Shri Nemisuriji, the protector of this sacred place. The last renovation of this temple was accomplished on the 13th day of the bright half of the month of magh in the year 1885 by building a splendid seven - peaked and four - Storeyed temple, shining like a God’s residence.
