This tirth is very ancient. This tirth is believed to belong to the times of King Shripal. At some time in the past, this tirth was perhaps a part of the Soparak city. The city of Sopalak later on became known by the name Nalasopara. The virtuous and beautiful daughter of the king of this city was once bitten by a snake. By virtue of propitiation of the navpada King Shripal saved her from death and married her. The idol of Bhagawan appeared here from the lake of Nalasopara. It is very ancient. It was installed in the present temple renovated on the auspicious second day of the dark half of the month of Magh in the year 1892 of the vikram era. It is said that when his ship was lost in the sea, Sheth Motisha took a vow that he would build a temple at the place where his ship would be found. Thus this temple was built according to the vow of Motisha Sheth and this extremely splendid idol was installed. in it.
