Shri Adinath Digambar Jain Temple, Mozamabad

photo

Earlier there was a small Digmabr Jain temple and 'Nasiyan' here. This temple is a 'samavasharan' temple with Neminath Idol. In the year 1607 Amatya Nanumal Godha (the then close aid of King Mansingh), built three 'shikhar' (pinacles) and two underground temples. These underground temples are also hence know as 'Bhauharen ke mandir'. The underground temples have many Tirthankar Idols. The Mulnayak Adinath Idol is huge and worth see. The shikhar's are beautiful and have carvings depicting Jain culture. Signs of attacks from Muslim Invaders are evident with destroyed Idols on the outer walls of the temple. Impressions of canon fire can also be seen.
