Shri Kulpakji Tirth

photo

Chakravati Bharat got idols of the twenty-four Tirthankaras installed on the Astapad hills. One of the idols was made of the sapphire fixed on his finger-cap. This is that idol of Bhagawan Adishwar. It is also known as the ‘Manekya Swami’. King Ravan got it by worshipping the deities. It was worshipped in Lanka for many years. There is a mention that after the fall of Lanka, the presiding deities kept it well protected in the sea. There is a mention of this tirth and Manikyaswami in a stone inscription of the year 1333 of the Vikram era. There is a mention that in the years 1481 and 1767 of the Vikram era, the temple was renovated by Shri Jain Svetambar Sangha with the help of the son of Aurangzeb and this idol was installed. Here, there is also a sapphire-colored, smiling, ancient and matchless idol of Bhagawan Mahavir Swami. From the thirteen to the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month of Chaitra every year, thousands of worshippers worship Prabhu with joy and delight. The presiding deity there is very miraculous. Sometimes musical notes are heard here as if there are coming from musical instruments.
