Historical Importance:
The temple here is very ancient and belongs to 6-7 century. It is a birthplace of Kannada poet and writer named 'Pamp', who has shown importance of kannada language and kannada ethics and ideology. In munnur of puligeri there were 772 basdis (Temples) but now there are only two basdis (Temples). Many Jain Acharyas had spread Jain religion here.
