Dharmasthal means an auspicious or a sacred place. It is the sacred place for Hindus, Muslims and christians. The place is visited by a large number of people from these communities. Main Temple of Manjunath Swami (an avatar of Lord Shiva) and temple of Jain's Chandranath Swami (Chandra Prabhu Bhagwan) is at Dharmasthal. A 37 feet high madnifcient Idol of Bahubali Swami built in karkal was installed on Bahubali Mountain. The significance of this place is that Hegde Family who believes in Jainism
